Numbering Peculiarities Note:Each volume begins with the December issue and runs through November of the following year, December 1899-August 1912.
Joint publication first issued June 1902 with double numbering of issues: Northwestern druggist (volume III, number 7) and the Wisconsin druggists' exchange (volume XI, number 6). Double numbering of issues continued until 1918, when the numbering for Northwestern druggist was dropped, skipping volume numbers 20-26, and continued with the numbering of the Wisconsin druggists' exchange, from volume 27 onward.
Phrase "Wisconsin druggists' exchange" included in the caption, masthead, or colophon, June 1902-August 1919.
Issue for August 1912 considered a double issue, skipping the September issue and resuming in October with: Northwestern Druggist (volume XIII, number 10) and Wisconsin Druggists' Exchange (volume XXI, number 9)

Northwestern druggist, irregular. Issue for December 1918 called volume XIX, number 12 in the caption title and colophon, and called volume XXVI, number 12 on the cover. Volumes 20-26 omitted in numbering. Volume numbering resumes with volume XXVII, number 1 (January 1920), in continuation of the numbering of the Wisconsin druggists' exchange which was consolidated with the Northwestern druggist in 1902.
Issue for October 1918 called "Nineteenth Year", corresponding with the founding of Northwestern druggist. Issue for November 1918 called "Twenty-sixth Year", corresponding with the founding of the Wisconsin druggists' exchange.
