| 520 | |a The editorial project is the outcome of many years of research work by a specialized team coordinated by Francia Escobar de Zarate and Gloria Zea, The set of two volumes comprises a commented catalogue of a selection of one hundred emblematic works from the holdngs of MamBo, and a chronology of the museum and information on its 43 collections. When Marta Traba gave Gloria Zea the management of the Museum of Modern Art in Bogota in 1969, the collection included only 80 works. The pieces were in the National University, where they were 'sheltered' in several classrooms. Four decades later, the museum has more than 3,500 pieces, not including posters and reproductions of works that are also in the possession of the museum. The collection includes works by European artists such as Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall or Rene Magritte, along Japanese, Mexicans and Colombian artists such as Fernando Botero, Carlos Rojas, Pedro Alcantara, Andres de Santa Maria and hundreds more. The catalog project was the original idea of Francia Escobar Field, of the Fundacion Artes Colombia, recently awarded the Women Together Awards for her work in the cultural sector and its support for Colombian youth. "This first volume contains, as an inventory, each of the Museum's heritage works in alphabetical order with their photograph, technical sheet and registration number. This section presents the wide and extensive collection that safeguards the MAMBO and facilitates its study to the interested public." (HKB Translation) --Page 9 (v. 1). "In this second volume we find the chronology of the Museum since the arrival in Colombia of the Argentine critic Marta Traba in 1954, until the exhibition "Bogota: beauty and horror", held in 2015, which shows the memory and uncertainty of the city.
