Abstract: |
The goal of this project was to work with GRID Alternatives to install solar photo-voltaic system to displace combined total of 280,000 kWh/ year of grid-based electricity for the San Pasqual, La Jolla and Mesa Grande reservations. This will be achieved through the installation of 42 roof-top or ground mount photovoltaic systems on homes and buildings located on the San Pasqual, La Jolla and Mesa Grande reservations. Implementing these 42 systems will also provide hands-on solar installation training to at least 20 Tribal community volunteers and job trainees.

The project helped the residents and tribal governments of three tribes listed above (La Jolla, Mesa Grande and San Pasqual) implement residential solar on their reservations. By increasing solar on each reservation, the Tribal governments are increasing their government and people?s energy independence from San Diego Gas and Electric.
|
