Learn to use two-way ANOVA in SPSS with data from the UK Living Cost and Food Survey (2010) / Luke Sloan & Rob Angell.

This work introduces readers to two-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Two-way ANOVA is an extension of one-way ANOVA. It allows researchers to examine the influence of two categorical variables on one continuous variable. In two-way ANOVA both direct effects and the interaction between variables are...

It allows researchers to examine the influence of two categorical variables on one continuous variable. In two-way ANOVA both direct effects and the interaction between variables are incorporated into the model. This example uses a subset of data from the 2010 UK Living Cost and Food Survey (LCFS). Specifically, we look at whether a person's weekly household expenditure differs as a consequence of the type of tenure of the property in which they reside, as well as the country (within the UK) they live in. This is important for sociologists looking to understand how people spend their money and how this differs between geographical locations.
