Learn about Pearson's correlation coefficient in SPSS with data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (2012) / The Odum Institute.

This work introduces researchers to Pearson's correlation coefficient, which is a measure of association between two continuous variables. Pearson's correlation coefficient measures the positive or negative linear relationship between two continuous variables. This example uses a subset of...

Pearson's correlation coefficient measures the positive or negative linear relationship between two continuous variables. This example uses a subset of data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) at the National Center for Education Statistics, 2012, to examine whether the college graduation rates for men and women are correlated. This permits an exploration of whether graduation rates for each gender are generally similar to each other from college to college.
