In the Senate of the United States. May 27, 1858. -- Ordered to be printed. Mr. Clay submitted the following report. The Committee on Commerce, to whom was referred the "memorial of William A. Vaughan, John Smith, Wm. D. Little, and Nathaniel Dennet, Jr., praying that compensation may be made to them for time that they were employed as inspectors of the port of Portsmouth, N.H.," have had the same under consideration, and report against the prayer of the memorialists for the reasons set forth in the letter of the Secretary of the Treasury, dated May 24, 1858, which they present as part of their report [electronic resource].
