Frontis. plate signed: George Burder sculptor. Preface signed: The editors. Imprints vary: imprint for 1781 reads in part: printed for T.Vallance and Alex. Hogg. Volumes have continuous pagination and register. At end of volume 10, which ends before the end of 1783, "in order to render the preceding volume complete for binding," appears at head of index leaf. Includes essays on religious topics, church history, and morals; with correspondence, poetry, a monthly chronicle of current events including church preferments, marriages, births and deaths. Each monthly number includes frontis. portrait of an important churchman and an engraved hymn with text and music. Reproduction of original from the Huntington Library.
