520 3 |a In 1996, the State of Ohio established a project to demonstrate the effectiveness of ethanol as an alternative to gasoline in its fleet operations. All vehicles in the study were 1996 model year Ford Tauruses: ten were flexible-fuel vehicles (FFVs) and three were standard gasoline models. Overall, the State of Ohio's staff has been pleased with the Taurus FFVs. The vehicles perform well and meet the operators' needs.
