520 | |a This report for South Carolina's Trident Technical College (TTC) includes the following Institutional Effectiveness components: majors or concentrations, academic advising, two-year to four-year transfer, and library resources and services. Across the programs, the most common effectiveness indicators include job placement rates, number of graduates, employer satisfaction, graduate satisfaction, student success in specified course, student satisfaction with courses and instructors, and fall enrollment. Program managers designed improvement plans for those indicators where benchmarks were not met. Describes these strategies by indicator. Spring 1999 brought full implementation of the academic advising process. The first assessment of the new process revealed some weaknesses such as advisor availability and lower than expected numbers of students registered by their advisor for fall 1999. Outlines an improvement plan for the academic advising process. TTC gauges transfer activity and performance of its students by comparing: size of transfer cohorts across time; number and percent of students transferring to senior colleges; each cohort's average GPA; and the senior institution's rejection rates of TTC applicants. Outcomes of the 1999-2000 learning resource assessment met or exceeded expected levels of performance for 15 of 21 indicators designed to assess the program.
