| 520 | |a This paper describes the Edina School District Profiles, which are composed of multiple indicators from survey data, assessment data, and school demographics. This paper focuses on student/staff/parent surveys and shows how these surveys were developed to represent student, staff, and parent satisfaction levels, needs, perceptions, and opinions on instruction, learning climates, technology integration, parent involvement, and other topics. The report also describes how these survey results were presented and visualized in a clear and useful way in school profiles so that audiences are able to understand and use them, and it explains how schools use school profiles to monitor student progress, identify school needs and set priorities, set improvement goals, and devise action plans to meet these goals. The survey development process began with a planning committee that defined school specific needs and then formulated research objectives related to these needs. Questionnaires were then developed, and survey results were used to build school profiles. Once the information from the surveys is reported in the profiles, schools and the district begin the work of using the profiles for school improvement. (Contains 12 references.) (SLD) | ||
