| Summary: | This report evaluates a project to provide a year-long English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) institute for 100 ESL literacy providers and instructors in Pennsylvania in order to enhance the skills of the participants in the institute. The ESL Institute provides an intensive 3-day summer workshop followed up by two 2-day workshops and a spring 2-day workshop designed to meet the individual needs of the adult ESL educators. Altogether, 80 people participated in the workshops over the course of several months. It was determined that the institute met and exceeded expectations, and it is recommended that the program be funded again in future years. (Contains 10 references.) (KFT) |
