Highlights of the reports include: (1) 20,490 students were enrolled in fall 2000, 58.3% of whom were female; (2) 29% of students were age 19-21, 17.8% were 25-30, and 13% were 36-50; (3) 64% of students were enrolled part-time, and 17.7% were enrolled in evening classes only, while 16.2% were enrolled in day and evening classes; (4) 55% of students enrolled intended to earn a four-year degree, and 45.6% of students intended to be at the college for 2 years; (5) 53% of students had done previous college work but had no degree; (6) 42.3% of students were employed full time, 29.7% were employed part time, and 28.9% were not employed; (7) of those students who were unemployed, 53.7% were seeking work; (8) 51.5% (10,548) of fall 2000 students were Hispanic, 39.5% (8,097) were white, and 4.4% (906) were black; (9) total Internet, telecourse, and off-campus enrollment was 3,619; (10) total developmental education enrollment, in 427 courses, was 10,729; (11) 56.7% of the college faculty is male, 74.5% is white, and 20% is Hispanic; and (12) 66.4% (635 of a total of 956) of the college's faculty is adjunct.
