An introductory section defines public-private partnerships and examines their relevance to child care concerns; discusses the financing of partnerships and the different perspectives of corporate and state leaders; and lists the factors critical to a successful public-private venture. The bulk of the report consists of profiles of 20 public-private partnerships in 18 states. Each profile identifies the name, location, and chief sponsors of the partnership and the type of service offered; provides background information on the origin of the partnership's program; describes the design, current status, and funding of the program sponsored by the partnership; and lists local contacts. Appendixes include a description of current trends in employer supported day care and a list of members of the CCAC National Advisory Board. A seven-item bibliography is provided. (BC) | ||
