| Summary: | This report offers a tabulation of the reading and mathematics outcomes for schools in the Kansas City, Missouri, school district during the 1990-1991 school year under Effective Schools funding. Two tables present school district summary data according to grade and level of schooling. These tables list the number and percentage of schools that met objectives for reading and mathematics as set by their 1990-1991 school improvement plan and as measured by the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS) and Tests of Achievement and Proficiency (TAP). Reading objectives were met by 17 percent and mathematics objectives by 30 percent of schools. For each of the 50 elementary schools and 11 middle schools profiled, 1 table presents figures for the degree to which specific objectives set by each school were met. These figures are median percentile scores. A second table presents the actual achievement results as measured by the ITBS and shows changes in median percentile scores of reading and mathematics achievement as measured by the ITBS. Scores from 1987 through 1991 are shown. The average percentile scores for the school district and the nation are included for comparison. For each of nine high schools, two tables present similar data, with achievement being measured by the TAP. (BC) |
