| Summary: | This bibliography lists and provides abstracts for the principal documents and publications of the General Information Programme and UNISIST, including guidelines, studies, manuals, directories, and materials from international conferences that are concerned with various aspects of information science, librarianship, and archive science. The list is designed to facilitate access to this specialized literature by students, teachers, and researchers in these fields. The materials are listed under three headings: (1) modern technologies, standardization, and interconnection of information systems; (2) national information policies and infrastructures; and (3) training of information personnel and information users. Information provided for each entry includes a complete bibliographic description, the language of publication, the document code and/or ISBN (International Standard Book Number), and an abstract. In addition to the main listing, which is organized by subprogram of the Major Programme VII of the Second Medium Term Plan for 1984-89, this bibliography includes keyword and author indexes. It is noted that the documents of the Records and Archives Management Programme (RAMP) are listed together for ease of access although they are divided up among various subprograms. The documents and publications appearing in this bibliography are obtainable in printed form free of charge or on microfiche for a fee. (CGD) |
