Summary:This manual, developed by members of the staff of the St. Louis, Missouri, Public Schools, is intended to help company officials responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating company-school collaborative programs to perform these tasks and guide the co-workers who assist them. The manual is organized in five chapters. Chapter I presents the case for cooperation and establishes principles for action. Chapter II describes the options available, such as community partnerships, special assistance, individualized programs, adopt-a-school, and limited collaboration. Chapter III defines the roles of the company and school participants. Chapter IV contains strategies and techniques for designing and operating projects. Topics covered include staff development classroom activities, special services, career education and other curriculum areas, and national programs such as Junior Achievement and Future Business Leaders of America. Chapter V gives advice about evaluating and promoting the programs. (KC)
