| Summary: | This booklet describes the activities and services of the Community Colleges for International Development, Inc., a cooperative of nine community colleges which seeks to provide for the internationalization of the curriculum; promote the personal/professional enrichment of faculty, staff, and students; promote international educational linkages; share resources and expertise with other countries with similar educational interests and concerns; and provide mid-level manpower training and technical assistance in vocational and technical education to developing nations. Following a brief overview of the history and mission of the cooperative, the booklet outlines the services provided, including technical assistance and training programs and consultant services. Next, the activities in which the cooperative has been involved since its establishment in 1976 are highlighted. Descriptions are provided of bilateral education agreements with the Republic of Suriname and the Republic of China; educational conferences to advance international education; overseas centers; grant procurement; faculty and student exchanges; educational visits abroad; training programs; and international visitors. Finally, the booklet describes the nine member colleges, focusing on their international education efforts and innovative services and listing their vocational programs. (LAL) |
