| Summary: | As part of the basic special education curriculum of the Department of Public Instruction of Puerto Rico, this teacher's guide, presents, in Spanish, a basic curriculum for writing skills for students with disabilities. Skills for handwriting (the production of writing) and composition are included. Although the student with disabilities needs individualized instruction, this guide offers a list of basic skills that the student can develop in accord with his or her abilities. The teacher can vary the sequence of ideas and select the most appropriate. The skills begin with those required for the production of manuscript and cursive writing, and proceed to those of composition, considering the relationships between the spoken and written words. Six appendixes provide some specific advice and activities for improving student writing. (Contains 13 references.) (SLD) |
