Summary:The San Rafael more able learner curriculum was geared to a select group of elementary school students. It attempted "to deepen appreciations, attitudes, and understandings through increased knowledge of the arts and sciences, and to develop proficiencies and skills in selected areas in the arts and sciences." the curriculum offered a unit on fine arts that included art philosphy (application and history), music philosophy (appreciation and history), and architecture. The abstract sciences involved mathematics (history, philosophy, and advanced concepts), and logic (history, systems, methods, and application). The sciences included biology (zoology and botany) and physical sciences (physics and chemistry). Included in the social sciences were anthropology, geography, history, sociology, political sciences (civics), philosophy, ethics, education, and philosophy. The exploration in languages offered the science, origin, and history of languages, cultural enrichment, and semantics. Language arts included English, literature, drama, poetry, creative writing, and speaking forms. Offered also were special classes and events (saturday chemistry seminars) along with special facilities and materials (libraries and health services)
