Description
Summary:In improving educational opportunities it is an important step to provide a better knowledge and a broader understanding of minority groups. Such methods and technIQues include the use of films, literature, and community resources. These materials should provide new insights for teaching students to understand, accept, and respect individuals who come from cultural backgrounds which are different from their own. To build understanding in the classroom and assembly, four areas must be considered--teacher preparation, school subjects and practice, learning experiences in subject fields, and assembly programs. A bibliography for both children and teachers concerning intergroup relationships is listed, as are intergroup relation agencies.
