| 520 | |a This report presents a consideration of the state-of-the-art of task analysis or job analysis. The report was developed in connection with the Allied Health Professions Project whose purpose was to provide the data necessary for the development of job-related curricula in training individuals for service in selected allied health occupations. Task analysis or job analysis, as defined in this report, looks at duties, tasks, and elements which make up a specific occupational title; the tasks can then be analyzed to determine the skills and knowledge necessary for performance at a required level of competency, and these skills can then be used to design the required curriculum. This report reviews task analysis methodologies, discusses the need for a usable and practical definition of a unit of work, and then summarizes activities undertaken by the Allied Health Professions Project. Appendixes include a definition of a work unit and further information about the Allied Health Professions Project. (JA) | ||
