| 520 | |a The North Carolina Department of Community Colleges offers a variety of services which are intended to enable institutions within that state to identify, develop, and deliver their services in an efficient and effective manner. This document provides the local institution with a suggested model which might be used in the preparation of long and short-range plans that are consistent with statewide planning efforts while remaining sensitive to the needs of the students and labor markets within the communities served. A maor planning service that is discussed in detail is the use of enrollment projections by major program area at the regional and institutional level, and occupational and training requirements projections at the regional level, in the preparation of the local institution's long range assessment of facility and staff needs. A manpower requirements model for an 11 county area is used to illustrate the type of data which is available. In addition, the approaches used by one institution to disaggregate such data for local use are included. (Author/LO) | ||
