520 |a This paper describes the adaptation of instructional modules and audio-visual tapes for an engineering graphics course to a course entitled "Technical Drawing for Applied Art." This is a service course taught by the engineering department for the applied art department in the College of Home Economics. A separate problem package was utilized with the course text. Among the benefits of utilizing the tapes and modules were: (1) the tapes can be viewed by students who miss the lecture and (2) both can be used to review for quizzes and exams. The first tapes and modules were developed almost concurrently with the course. The modules have been utilized in teaching the course a total of seventeen times during four academic quarters and one summer session. The current materials represent a "second generation" effort. A written set of modules is currently being prepared, and this fall a handbook will be used instead of a text. A copy of the course objectives, the first module, and the narrative in the taped presentation are included. (LS)
