The introduction includes the following: a discussion of the problems of juvenile offenders and their present treatment; an overview of the project and its services, which include alternative schooling, correction of learning disabilities, vocational training, job placement, counseling, recreation, and cultural activities; and an overview of the six succeeding chapters, which are intended as a resource manual. These chapters explain the following: the development and organization of the project; referral, selection, and intake processes; operations; costs and results; evaluation guidelines; and replication issues. Appended are the alternative school curriculum materials, the curriculum design for the learning disabilities center, and the Denver High Impact Anti-Crime Program evaluation report. (BM)
