Los Angeles Valley College's Senior Adult Program placed l01 men and women in part-time jobs, and its Gold Card Program, which allowed those over 60 free access to college activities, enrolled 707 older students in credit courses and over 2,000 in non-credit courses. Project Elderly at Miami-Dade Community College located jobs for the elderly, established a clearinghouse for those wishing to do volunteer work, and developed educational curricula for the older student. New York City Community College undertook a two-year project to investigate career opportunities for those over 45 in Brooklyn, and established public information desks regarding job opportunities for older workers at ten banks in the area. Pace University established an Active Retirement Center where older citizens could continue to learn, and is now expanding the center and developing a job and volunteer placement program.
