Summary:Future trends in the field of special education are considered from the special educator's point of view. Predictions for education beyond 1984 include that schools will increase their capacities or modify their operational procedures so that educational services will be provided for all children, that parents will receive a semiannual set of instructional objectives for each of their children, and that elderly and retired persons will substantially supplement the efforts of regular school personnel.
