Description
Summary:Deserting fathers are often the victims of a society which is frustrated, ignorant and failing in its provision of sound family policy. A study of the impact of the criminal justice system on deserting nonsupporting fathers in relation to the fulfillment of their roles as providers indicates that these individuals need assistance in coping with their dilemma. Possible strategies for coping with this problem include: (1) organization of neighborhood family crisis centers; (2) provision of job opportunities for each family head and supplementary salaries during the working years; (3) reorganization of health services; and (4) improvement of public welfare services.
