Description
Summary:This report deals with the employment and economic status of Asian and Pacific women in the United States. Data collected for a set of socioeconomic variables were analyzed and interpreted. The topics considered were: (1) the economic status of Asian American women as reflected by labor force participation patterns; (2) the economic, employment, and marital status of Asian American women; (3) factors which depress the earning power of Asian American women; (4) occupational stratification theory; (5) occupational distribution and age cohorts; (6) occupational mobility; and (7) employment distribution by industry. The data analyses were used to identify areas for future research. Tables of data are included in the report. (MK)
