The first section is an introduction that discusses the purposes of the workshop. The second section is the keynote address, A Look at Yourself, by Claudia Crump. She emphasizes the need for an individual to consider personal skills, interests, and characteristics in determining possible work objectives. Section 3 summarizes a panel discussion by persons with preparation for teaching who work in alternative careers, illustrating how skills learned in education were viable elsewhere. Alternatives are discussed in these fields: communications, government agencies, business, social service, and youth agencies. The final section contains summaries of discussion groups on various topics regarding alternative careers for educators.
