Needs, motives, and goals are defined and applied to success in school, with suggestions about maintaining motivation toward a school goal. The process of choosing proper goals and the differences between long and short-term goals are discussed. Also described are sources of frustration that contribute to school failure, the effects of frustration, and methods of coping with frustration. The text includes case studies and questions for group discussion after each section. The final chapter includes study suggestions and ways to prepare for examinations. (Author/RC)
