Description
Summary:The job descriptions presented in this document are examples for library directors to use as guidelines in drafting statements to fit their own particular operations. The descriptions cover most of the major work activities performed in libraries, whether they be in public, college, university, or special libraries. The jobs described include those in the organizational areas of administration, cataloging, acquisitions, circulation, reference, and audiovisual media. Statements covering library work areas for student assistants are also given. Although the statements were prepared for use in a small college library, they are equally adaptable to other types of libraries. (Author/LLS)
