After a brief description of the devices used by LOGO, the process of acquainting a student with the system is explained. The strong anthropomorphization of components of the LOGO system is discussed, with emphasis on the computer controlled mechanical turtles and display turtles used in the system. Also discussed is the importance of having children learning to use LOGO to think of their projects as research enterprises. The 23 references listed include 11 working papers, memos, and reports on LOGO. (LLS)
