520 |a Research has not identified any consistent relationships between participation in high school sex education programs and the sexual attitudes and behaviors of college students. Results of preliminary research into the relationship of sex education and developing sexuality have shown few significant correlations. A sample of college students completed the Sexual Experience Questionnaire while another sample completed the Sexual Knowledge Test. Results showed that students rated themselves as having a fair knowledge of sexuality; however, their overall test performance ratings indicated that they may not have been as knowledgeable as they believed. The findings suggest that the current controversy about sex education may be misplaced, and that further research is needed before any conclusions can be drawn. (JAC)
