Description
Summary:The SCOPE test battery has been developed by the Department of Education so that Northwest Territories teachers can have a tool to measure classroom learning. SCOPE is based on a criterion-referenced approach to testing, meaning the tests are designed to determine each pupil's mastery of the skills embodied in the objectives of the Northwest Territories school curricula in the areas of English Language and of mathematics from kindergarten to grade 6. The SCOPE Mathematics Achievement Test is contained in seven test books, one for each of the grades K-1, 2, 4, 5, 6, with two books for grade 3. The manual provides the teacher with information necessary for administering, scoring, and interpreting the mathematics test covering objectives for grades kindergarten through 6, along with detailed instructions for giving and scoring each grade of the test. It is important to note that instructions may be translated into a native language or simple re-phrased depending on the needs of the children. Appendices list skills tested at each grade level and provide the answer key for each grade. (ERB)
