Summary:This annual report provides an overview and evaluation of the activities of Moraine Valley Community College's Center for Faculty and Program Excellence for the 1982-83 academic year. The first section of the report provides information on the history, purpose, and administration of the center, which was established in 1982 to strengthen and advance full- and part-time faculty growth and effectiveness and meet a variety of faculty needs. Next, a list of programs designed for full- and part-time faculty is presented, noting activities in the areas of in-service programs, educational opportunities, grants, mini-grants, "Innovative Abstracts," visitations by the center director, the 1982 National Conference on Teaching Excellence, and professional association membership. After a statement of the center's budget expenditures, results of an evaluation conducted to determine the effectiveness and overall performance of the center are presented. Information is provided on whether the faculty considered specific events as worthwhile or not worthwhile, whether they felt the center director's communications were effective or not, and their overall performance rating of the center. Faculty comments in response to the survey are also included. The bulk of the report consists of appendices related to specific center events, courses, and activities and the center evaluation form.
