The goals and objectives of the exercise are stated, i.e., to help students become familiar with the advantages and disadvantages of using biographical, testing, and interview data in personnel selection, to become aware of errors and biases, and to become familiar with ethics, laws, and policies. The procedures for the exercise, in which students are assigned to be either applicant or interviewer, are described. Materials for the exercise, including a hypothical job description and job criteria, rating forms, interview guidelines and evaluation forms, a job application form, and an assessment of the learning experience, complete the guide.
