Summary:This report, submitted to the Congress by President Ford in accordance with the National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958, summarizes the United States' space and aeronautics activities for the year 1975. Detailed summaries of the activities of the following governmental departments or agencies are provided: National Aeronautics and Space Administration; Departments of Defense, Commerce, Interior, Agriculture, State, and Transportation; Energy Research and Development Administration; National Science Foundation; Environmental Protection Agency; National Academy of Sciences; Federal Communications Commission; the Smithsonian Institution; and the United States Information Agency. Scientific investigations concerning the universe, solar system, and the Earth's space environment, atmosphere, and surface features are detailed. The appendices contain information relating to the United States Spacecraft record (1957-1975), the World Record, the history of the United States and Soviet manned space flights, space launch vehicles, the space budget, launched scientific payloads (1971-1975) and launched space probes (1971-1975).
