Summary: | This book is an annual compilation of master's theses and doctoral dissertations written in schools and departments of journalism and communication in the United States. The aim of the book is to improve the flow of information about current research to students and teachers in journalism schools, to scholars in related disciplines, and to professionals in the mass media. The book contains 288 master's theses and 64 doctoral dissertations accepted at 50 colleges and universities from 1 July 1975 to 30 June 1976. The abstracts are arranged in alphabetical order by author. A subject index classifies the abstracts according to such topics as advertising, audience analysis, communication theory, communicator analysis, editorial policy and methods, education for journalism, foreign press and international communication, government and the press, history and biography, magazines, industrial journalism, public relations, visual communication, and radio, television, and films.
