| Summary: | This publication contains course outlines and descriptions of seminars from graduate level courses on how to teach sociology to undergraduates. Some of the outlines are detailed, other outlines in the publication are brief. For example, the first syllabus is a detailed description by class session of a seminar-practicum on the teaching of sociology held at the University of North Carolina. It includes a listing of seminar goals, problems discussed, assignments, and a bibliography of student readings and supplementary materials. Another outline briefly describes California State University's Internship in Higher Education on Teaching Sociologists to Teach. This includes an overview of the course purpose and requirements and a listing of reading assignments. The names and addresses of the sociologists who teach the courses are included so that interested persons may contact them for additional information. A reprinted journal article describing a graduate course in the teaching of psychology, a brief report which relates to hiring practices for new junior faculty members, and a list of pros and cons on requiring of graduate students to take courses in teaching are also included.
