Over 100,000 students from Grades 4, 8, and 12 were given tests designed to measure mastery of a limited number of important mathematical skills and concepts. Approximately 3,500 teachers of mathematics at seven different grade levels (1,3,4,7,8,10,12) completed comprehensive questionnaires dealing with numerous aspects of the methods and materials in the teaching of mathematics in the province. A more complete rendering of the results of the Assessment may be found in the three other reports in the series. (MN)
