| Summary: | The calendar summarizes all action taken by the Senate Select Committee on Indian Affairs during the first session of the 96th Congress, Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 1979. All Senate Bills and Resolutions and House Acts and Resolutions referred to the Committee are listed numerically as are committee reports and public laws resulting from committee action. A summary of each bill, act, and resolution includes the number, author, date referred, intent, and chronological summary of committee action taken. Special committee actions are listed chronologically by subject. A chronological list of committee hearings includes the title and subject of each hearing. Hearing reports and committee prints are listed alphabetically. Executive communications, reports, and petitions are then briefly described in a chronological listing. The calendar includes alphabetical subject and author indices to all bills and resolutions referred to the committee. Committee rules and jurisdiction are set forth.
