Description
Summary:In the summer of 1967, the American association of junior colleges conducted an "airborne planning tour for new junior colleges," supported by a grant from educational facilities laboratories. The tour included visits to 19 colleges and universities whose buildings were considered architecturally outstanding in some way. Tour participants were teams of personnel from 16 institutions, each team consisting of an administrator, a board member, and an architect or designer. The institutions visited represented small town, urban, and suburban locations, each with its particular building needs. Illustrations, with descriptions of noteworthy structural points, are intended to help other administrators in planning their new or renovated campus facilities. This document is also available for $2.50 from the American association of junior colleges, 1315 sixteenth street, nw., Washington, D.C. 20036. (hh)
