Each citation is placed in one of nine categories and arranged according to year of publication and alphabetically by author. The subjects of the categories are (1) racial riots and racially-motivated social disorders, (2) nonracial riots and disorders, (3) prevention and control of riots, (4) theories of rioting and social disorder, (5) the social, economic, and interpersonal environment of minority groups, (6) intergroup relations, (7) the organizations, philosophies, and leadership of emerging social and political movements, (8) civil rights, and (9) the response to conditions of poverty and social disorder through poverty programs and legislation.
