Description
Summary:The purpose of this document is to provide a summary of the four-volume final report of the Wisconsin Elementary Teacher Education Project (WETEP), which includes position papers and specifications for a model teacher education program projected for the year 1975 and beyond. In addition to summaries of the purpose, background, organizational components, and special features of the project, the document presents a page-length abstract of each of the specifications and position papers developed during the 15-month study. The thirty-one abstracts treat a wide range of topics related to the following areas of concern: "new curricula for the schools, rapidly altering procedures in higher education, continually improving technological resources, innovative approaches which improve the quality of the relationship between student and teacher, and emphases which give continuing hope for effective individualization of instruction."
