| Summary: | This is a two-part bibliography of recently received textbooks and professional resources in the Educational Materials Center. The bibliography on adult basic education lists publications received between September 1968 and May 1970 for teaching adults the first essential skills of reading, writing, arithmetic, community living, and citizenship. Only materials specifically developed for adult basic education are included. Performance levels of materials listed range from 0 through seventh or eighth grade; however, seventh and eighth grade materials are included only if they are part of a sequential program beginning within the elementary grade range. All materials related to teaching English to speakers of other languages published in the United States since 1965 and received in the Center through April 1970 are included in the second part of the bibliography.
