Description
Summary:Evaluation was made of an inservice training session at Jackson State Community College, Tennessee, for adult basic education teachers and supervisors in West Tennessee. Data were obtained from the 102 participants through the use of a questionnaire and the Kropp-Verner Attitude Scale. The null hypothesis was developed that there was no association between the value of the inservice training and the sex, age, length of experience in adult education, formal educational level, and position held in adult education of the participants. Data were analyzed by using the chi-square test of association; the .05 level was accepted as the level of confidence necessary. The null hypotheses was not rejected; in general, those participants who rated the training the highest were: males, less than 35 years of age, employed in adult education for more than two years, recipients of a master's degree, and employed as supervisors. There were no significant differences found in any of the variables examined; thus, the training appeared to be well received by the participants.
