Questionnaires were mailed to 378 supervisors of technical personnel, representing industries in 19 states to determine what they felt employees must know about instruments. Of the 378 questionnaires, 164 were returned in usable form. The second phase of the study was to determine student interest in an electronics calibration program. Fifty-one usable forms, of 158 sent to departmental chairmen in 19 states, were returned and the results tabulated. Findings indicate that there will be an increase of 52.43 percent of electronics calibration technicians over the next 3 years, and that the need for a program on the college level in the north-central region is evident.
