Summary:The specifications cover the construction of additions to four schools in the Detroit School District. The Construction Systems Program (CSP) was utilized in an attempt to (1) reduce the cost of school construction and provide improved value for the building dollar in terms of function, environment, first cost, and maintenance cost; (2) accelerate construction time; and (3) provide the occupants greater flexibility to better meet educational needs. This document is arranged according to the information for bidders; the contract requirements; and the specifications for the sub-systems of structure, atmosphere, lighting-ceiling, interior space division, and vertical skin. Addendums cover scheduling requirements, fire protection interpretations, and specification clarifications.
