520 |a The aim of the Texas Child Migrant Program is for each school district to develop a migrant program designed to meet the educational needs of the children of that school system. Each district is encouraged to implement new ideas, activities, and changes which will improve the education of migrant children. The basic goal of the Texas Child Migrant Program is the development of a comprehensive and total educational program which will help the migrant child realize his highest potential, creatively and usefully, and which will prepare him to take his place in the educational mainstream. This bulletin describes the program in terms of its objectives, project activities, staff and program development, summer institutes for migrant school personnel, and summer school programs for migrants. The Texas Child Migrant Program consists of 2 types--the 7-month program and the Enrichment Program, which is a supplementary educational service. Other projects for migrant children include the preschool program, the 4-year-old program, the demonstration school, and the interstate cooperation program. A list of the Texas Migrant Project schools for the school year 1972-73 is included. A related document is ED 056 824. (NQ)
