Responses to almost all the questionnaire items by Hofstra freshmen over the last 3 years are included in this report. Hofstra students followed the national trends on several items: expectations about graduate and professional schools, attitudes towards women, liberalized attitudes about campus policies and middle-of-the-road political orientation. Analysis of responses about major and career considerations leads to the following statements: There are larger percentages of freshmen at Hofstra who plan to major in business or education; expect to be more successful that most; expect to find jobs in their own fields after graduation; think benefit of college is monetary; see themselves as stable about major or career and think it unlikely that they will seek vocational guidance. The data in this report is presented in statistical tables. (Author/PG)
